Early Years Explorers
As an Early Years Teacher I am passionate about the learning and development of every child in my care. I use to the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Guidance (EYFS) and Development Matters Curriculum (DM) to deliver the best. (Can I put a link here for a document/)
I provide activities, and opportunities of learning within all seven areas of the curriculum:
- Personal, Social, and Emotional Development (PSED)
- Communication and Language (CL)
- Physical (P)
- Literacy (L)
- Maths (M)
- Understanding the World (UW)
- Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)
As well as considering the curriculum areas, I will reflect on each child’s characteristics of learning, to encourage:
- Play and Exploration
- Active Learning
- Creating and thinking Critically
I offer a warm and nurturing home, which promotes positive relationships, that continually improves the environment to maximise learning. Activities will exploit children’s individual interests and styles of learning. This will be achieved by me learning about your child, firstly from you, then observing them play, allowing me to assess their development and plan something interesting that will engage them. Each child will develop recorded learning journeys of their development, so we can remember and celebrate their achievements.
My partnership with you as parents is extremely important to deliver high quality learning for the children. Children love to share their learning journeys with their family, and any achievements you notice of your child can be added and celebrated.
As part of the EYFS I am required to carry out mandatory assessment checks on each child at the age of 2. I will however review each child’s learning termly and share this with parents.
